Birger Jarlsgatan 2, Stockholm
Photographed by Mikael Olsson
On November 20, 2020, All Blues opened the doors to its Stockholm store at Birger Jarlsgatan 2. Located in a 19th century building in Stockholm’s city centre, it features 4.7 metres in ceiling height, large arched windows and original walls in usable condition, unveiled beneath a century of old paint and tapestry and kept untouched as a tribute to the building.

A contrasting trio of materials – glass, mirror and steel - meet on a foundation of a white terrazzo floor. The centrepiece; a 1,3 ton “house” made entirely out of glass, stands out as a contemporary and upscaled way of displaying jewellery. Opposite stands a vertical mirror installation, constructed to function as fitting rooms, while metal rails with reference to public spaces, double work as a surface to display jewellery on specially designed rubber trays.
